Over two million euro will be spent by Kerry County Council on street cleaning next year.
The figure is a slight reduction on this year. However the amount spent on wages and salaries to run the service has increased from 1.2million to 1.6million euro. Other costs include waste disposal charges, repairs and maintenance of vehicles, diesel, materials and insurance. The local authority says as the county is a tourist destination, has a host of festivals and experiences adverse weather spells flexibility is given to this budget.
