Over 10.6 million euro has been earmarked for additional social housing in Kerry.
It is part of 182 million euro national announcement for 1,000 social housing units by Minister Alan Kelly.
The allocation has been welcomed by Deputy Arthur Spring, Senator Marie Moloney and Minister Jimmy Deenihan.
In total 63 units will be delivered in Kerry due to this 10.6 million euro allocation.
The largest portion of funding -3.9 million euro -will be used for 22 units in Kenmare.
Almost two million euro (€1,950,000) will provide ten units in Milltown and 1.5 million euro will deliver the same amount in Listowel.
Eight units will be acquired in The Park, Killarney for 1.45 million euro and almost two million euro will provide 11 units in Tralee at Killeen and on the Bill Kennerk Road.
The 10.6 million euro in funding is broken down as follows:
22 units in Kenmare €3,900,000
8 units at The Park, Killarney (Phase 2) €1,450,000
9 units at Killeen, Tralee €1,100,000
10 units in Listowel €1,500,000
10 units in Milltown €1,950,000
4 units at Bill Kennerk Road, Tralee €730,000
