« BackOther Voices founder receives American Chamber Lifetime Achievement Award

Other Voices founder Philip King has received the American Chamber’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Other Voices founder Philip King and series host Aidan Gillen who has been confirmed to present Other Voices 12 which will take place in Dingle on December 6, 7 and 8.

It’s the first time the award has gone to an artist as it is normally reserved for business people.

The chamber said it was recognising Philip King for his “enormous and outstanding contribution” to the arts and to the unique relationship between Ireland and the USA.

Philip King founded Other Voices, the Dingle based music series which is televised annually, 15 years ago.

The series attracted stars such as the late Amy Winehouse and Hozier to Kerry.

In accepting the award, the Ceann Trá based musician, producer, director and broadcaster, said he was humbled.
