The OPW is not going to lengthen the visiting season to Unesco Heritage site Skellig Michael.
Interest in protected rock which is home to the beehive huts has increased significantly since the filming Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The film is also credited with helping to boost online searches for accommodation in Kerry.
Despite reported calls from locals for an extension to the season which currently begins on May 14th and ends on October 2nd annually the OPW says it has no plans to extend the visitor season.
Also the number of visitors allowed per day will remain at 180.
