« BackOne-way traffic system in operation today in Lixnaw for funeral of Roibeárd Thornton

Gardaí in Lixnaw are advising motorists attending the funeral of Roibeárd Thornton this afternoon and evening that a one-way system is in operation.

Mr Thornton, who played hurling for Lixnaw, is a brother to sitting Fine Gael Cllr Aoife Thornton and a first cousin to Kerry football manager Eamon Fitzmaurice.
The 35 year old father of one died after a collision on the M7 Motorway near Castletroy on Tuesday morning.
He will repose at his family home at Ballingeragh, Lixnaw this afternoon from 4 o’clock to 8 o’clock.
Gardaí have requested the public heed the direction of stewards and for any non-essential traffic to avoid the area between 3.30 and 8.30 today.
