It’s important that roads at entry points into the county are of a good standard according to a community group on the Kerry/Limerick border.

Joan Murphy, chairperson of Tarbert Development Association
It was recently announced that 400,000 euro had been granted to improve part of the N69 at Tarbert just on the border with County Limerick.

The National Roads Authority says work should start this month or in November and depending on the weather, should take six weeks to complete.

Joan Murphy is chairperson of Tarbert Development Association which has campaigned on the issue.

She says she appreciates Kerry County Council has been carrying out important works on the road.

However, Joan Murphy says improvements are long overdue.
