Kerry General Hospital will not have to avail of the new HSE drive to attract nurses home.
The Director of Nursing, Richard Walsh, says it’s lucky not to have the turnover in staff other hospitals experience.
The health services’ new recruitment drive hopes to fill 500 posts.
It offers a relocation grant of up to 1,500 euro, incremental credits for experience gained outside of Ireland, and salaries ranging from 27,000 euro to 43,000 for a 39-hour week.
But the Irish Nurses and Midwives’ Organisations warns this won’t be enough.
Mr Walsh says Kerry General currently has a panel of highly skilled nurses waiting for positions to arise.
