« BackNo hold-ups expected in connecting Listowel to natural gas network

Gas Networks Ireland doesn’t expect any hold ups in its plans to connect Listowel to the natural gas network.

The Commission for Energy Regulation has approved plans to connect the town to the existing network via a feeder main from Foynes in West Limerick in a €20 million investment.

The gas will be used as an energy supply to the Kerry Ingredients plant in Listowel initially but will be available to homes and businesses in the coming years.

It’s expected to take around two years to complete, subject to securing statutory approvals and planning permissions.

Head of Commercial at Gas Networks Ireland, Denis O’Sullivan, doesn’t envisage any hold ups with planning permission or regulations.
