One of the newest candidates to be announced in Kerry for the General Election says her party colleagues who have already been selected to run are being supportive.
Former Mayor of Tralee and town councillor Grace O’Donnell has been added to the Fine Gael party ticket in the new five seat constituency in Kerry.
She says it would be naive not to recognise that she was selected primarily due to gender quota legislation.
However, Ms O’Donnell says she is a credible candidate who has worked hard for the party and constituency and looks forward to running an active campaign on the ground.
