« BackNew Garda Chief for Kerry to take up new position on August 4th

garda badgeA new Garda Chief Superintendent has been appointed to the Kerry Garda Division.

He is Con Cadogan, a native of West Cork, who is currently Superintendent at Gurranabraher in Cork city.

Mr Cadogan will take up the new role on August 4th – replacing Chief Superintendent Pat Sullivan, who retired in January.

Dave Sheahan, who is Chief Superintendent for Limerick, had been Chief for the Kerry Division in recent months.

Chair of the Joint Policing Committee, Fianna Fáil Councillor Niall Kelleher expressed his thanks to Chief Superintendent Sheahan for his efforts in overseeing the transition and said he looked forward to Mr Cadogan’s appointment.

Kerry Fianna Fáil Deputy John Brassil also paid tribute to Chief Superintendent Sheahan before welcoming Mr Cadogan’s appointment as Chief Superindendent in Kerry.
