A service level agreement between Kerry Education & Training Board and the Department of Education & Skills was signed yesterday at a board meeting at Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí’s existing building in Moyderwell.
This gives the green light to Kerry ETB to proceed with the procurement and appointment of the design team.
The school will be constructed on the site at Cloonmore (Hawley Park) which was transferred to Kerry ETB by Kerry County Council in March 2016.
It’s envisaged the project will be completed by 2020 .
Príomhoide Austin Ó Seachnasaigh says the new building is coming just in time to accomodate growing numbers.
Chair of Kerry ETB, Cllr Jim Finucane, said the project is a ‘milestone’ for education in Kerry and great news for Tralee.
