Plans are being submitted to demolish a landmark hotel in South Kerry and for a new hotel to be built on its site.
The new owners of Waterville Lake Hotel which is curently closed plan to demolish the building and replace it with a smaller hotel.
American company A &MSWB Holdings bought the Waterville Lake Hotel last May and now plans to demolish the building.
Planning permission is to be submitted to Kerry County Council for the demolition.
If this gets the go ahead, the owners hope to make a separate planning application to build a 32 bedroom hotel along with 12 four bedroom cottages.
The company also recently acquired Skellig Bay Golf Club in Waterville.
Radio Kerry understands it hopes to rename it Hogs Head Golf Club by 2017.
