« BackMinister says it’s intolerable that patients at County Leitrim hospital weren’t facilitated with basics like a shower

Minister with responsibilty for older people Kathleen Lynch says it’s intolerable that patients at a community hospital in County Leitrim weren’t facilitated to have a basic thing like a shower.

Kathleen Lynch said this needs to be addressed immediately in the care plans of residents at St Patrick’s Community Hospital in Carrick-On-Shannon.
Yesterday it was revealed in a HIQA report that some residents had to wait over a month to have a shower, due to staff shortages.
The Minister said that’s unacceptable, and she expects that an action plan will be put in place and acted on without delay.
