« BackMick O’Connell honoured by Irish journalists

One of GAA’s all-time  greats has been honoured in Killarney.

Kerry footballing legend Mick O’Connell was presented with an award by the Association of Irish Journalists for his extraordinary contribution to Irish sport.
The 79-year-old from Valentia Island who won four All Ireland senior medals received his accolade at a banquet held in the Killarney Park Hotel yesterday.
Olympic gold medal winner Ronnie Delaney, former Republic of Ireland soccer manager Eoin Hand, rugby legend Tony Ward and sports commentator Jimmy Magee were among the invited guests.
