The Dáil is due to sit at noon to vote for a Taoiseach – but Kerry Independent TD Michael Healy-Rae has indicated he will abstain.
It’s unclear if enough Independents are willing to vote for Enda Kenny.
Some say they want the vote delayed for a few hours.
Cork South West Independent Michael Collins says he won’t back Mr Kenny.
Mattie McGrath confirmed he will not vote for Enda Kenny and will stay in opposition.
