Met Eireann is warning that a yellow rainfall alert remains in place for parts of the West Coast.
The weather forecaster’s warning of between 20-to-35 millimetres of additional rain today across Connacht, Donegal, Clare and Kerry.
Meanwhile, members of the Defence forces are assisting with flood defences in counties Limerick, Clare, Galway and Westmeath.
Water levels rose dramatically yesterday leading to hundreds of properties being flooded.
The Defence Forces says more troops are ready to be deployed to other areas – affected by flooding – if needed.
