« BackMet Éireann forecasting torrential rain in Kerry over next 24 hours

Met Eireann have issued a Code Level Orange weather warning for Kerry for tonight and tomorrow.

Heavy and incessant falls of rain are expected overnight and on Friday.

Meteorologists are warning of spot flooding and treacherous driving conditions with rainfall levels of up to 75 milimetres predicted.

Kerry County Council has put a number of precautions in place including putting road crews on standby to deal with any flooding emergencies which might arise.

Property owners, particularly in areas that may have been prone to flooding damage in the past are advised to take appropriate measures to minimise the risk of damage to their property.
