« BackMEP calls for zero tolerance on litter in Kerry

RUBBISH IN CANALAn Ireland South MEP is advocating a zero tolerance stance on litter in Kerry.

Deirdre Clune is calling for a tougher approach to those engaged in fly tipping as the summer tourism season approaches.

MEP Clune is a member of the EU Tourism Taskforce and is calling for new laws, higher fines and better enforcement of existing powers when it comes to illegal dumping.

She says local authorities have better things to be doing besides going out and removing nappies, bottles and cans dumped on beaches and on quiet country roads.
