A man charged in connection with a spate of thefts in south Kerry has been ordered to stay away from Caherciveen.
22 year old John Banks O’Brien of Castlequinn, Caherciveen appeared before Killarney District Court. Detective Garda Richie Naughton arrested John Banks O’Brien in Caherciveen last evening. He was brought to Killarney Garda Station. This morning Mr O’Brien was brought before Judge Olann Kelliher, sitting at Killarney District Court, where he was charged with one count of burglary, seven counts of thefts and one count of handling stolen property on various dates. It’s alleged two of the thefts were from cars last week and the charge of handling stolen property arises from a third alleged theft from a car. It’s alleged the burglary took place at a house in Caherciveen also last week; Garda later recovered the property. Judge Olann Kelliher remanded Mr O’Brien on bail subject to strict conditions these include signing on at Killarney Garda Station, a curfew and to stay away from Caherciveen. Mr O’Brien is due back before Killarney District Court on November 3rd.
