« BackMan appears before Special sitting of Killarney District Court

A 58 year old man has appeared before a Special Sitting of Killarney District Court charged in connection with a series of burglaries in the town over the last week.

Donald Husbands of no fixed abode but originally from Lismire, Newmarket in County Cork appeared before the court charged with burglary, criminal damage and theft.
Inspector Tony Sugrue told the court that Mr Husbands was being charged in relation to a series of incidents which occured in the Killarney area.
These included criminal damage to Bus Eireann property, to a Volkswagon Caddy Van in the O Connell Terrace area, theft of a bottle of perfume from O Donoghues Pharmacy and burglary and theft at Clover House.
Solictor for Mr Husbands, Charles O Connor said that his client was homeless and agreed by consent to a remand in custody although he indicated he would be seeking bail in the future.
Judge James O Connor remanded Mr Husbands in custody to appear again before Killarney District Court next Tuesday September 15th.
