« BackMan airlifted from Carrauntoohill after fall

6pm – A man has been airlifted from Carrauntoohill in Co. Kerry after suffering an injury in a fall.
The 68-year-old Irishman was climbing with friends when he slipped on a patch of ice.  It’s believed he is suffering from a fractured ankle. A team of volunteers from Kerry Mountain Rescue was despatched to the scene and the man was airlifted by the coastguard helicopter to Kerry General Hospital in the past half-hour. The operation was managed by the Rescue Co-ordination Centre on Valentia Island.
