A man accused of raping a woman in Kerry has been sent forward for trial.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Tralee District Court.
The court heard the book of evidence was served on the accused man who is facing three charges.
Along with a count of rape the man is also charged with attempted rape and burglary in Kerry on a date in September 2015.
It is alleged the accused broke into the woman’s home, where she lived alone, raped her and stole 500 euro.
Judge James O’Connor sent the man forward for trial to the Central Criminal Court and remanded him in custody by consent and ordered a full press gagging order remain in place to protect the identity of the alleged victim.
Solicitor Pa Daly said his client would be applying for bail at the High Court.
Judge O’Connor said if the accused got bail and comes back to Kerry he would look again at the reporting restrictions as he said the public need to be protected.
