A 22-year-old charged with leaving several filling stations without paying has been remanded on bail.
John O’Brien with addresses at Direen, Cahirciveen, 4 Moyderwell, Tralee, and at 3 Knocklebede, Kilcummin, had been refused bail the previous week for failing to provide a proper address. John O’Brien is accused of dishonestly making off without payment at Topaz, The Reeks, Killarney on January 8th and again at the Topaz filling station on the Fenit Road, Tralee, the following day. He also faces charges of stealing diesel at Gala Oakpark Road, Tralee on October 17th, 2014 and again on December 12th. He is accused of not paying for over €290 of diesel in total. A special sitting of Tralee District Court heard he was the subject of a bench warrant issued at Killarney District Court last year when he failed to appear on charges of possessing cannabis resin at Killarney National Park on July 16th, 2014. Judge John King remanded Mr O’Brien on bail to appear in court again on October 7th.
