Stopping parking on sand dunes and providing more rock armour are among the objectives set out to protect the Maharees from erosion.
Today saw the first meeting of the Maharees Working Group which includes Kerry County Council, National Parks and Wildlife Service, OPW and Maharees Conservation Association.
It saw short, medium and long term objectives discussed and how to fund them.
Initial action will focus on the Kilshannig and Maherabeg roads.
The group will meet again early in the new year.
