A Listowel man who has experienced three cancellations of an ambulance to transport him to hospital appointments has eventually made the journey to the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dún Laoghaire.
81 year old Jim Scanlon suffered catastrophic injuries which left him wheelchair bound following a fall in January last year. Because of the cancellations, Jim had yet see specialists at the hospital in Dún Laoghaire since he was injured last year. Previously his wife Nora said the ambulance service said it had to cancel because of lack of resources.
