Meanwhile, hundreds are gathering this weekend, to discuss the future of the Catholic Church in Ireland. It’s the first Diocesan Synod in Limerick in 50 years.

100 proposals were put together from responses from 5,000 people to a survey carried out ahead of this weekend’s conference.
