« BackLecture on Austin Stack in Tralee this evening

A lecture is taking place this evening in Tralee on Austin Stack.

Stack was born in Ballymullen and in 1916 he made preparations for the landing of arms by Roger Casement; he was arrested and sentenced to death but later this was commuted to penal servitude.
His health suffered as a result of going on hunger strike for 41 days in 1924 and he passed away in 1929.
The free event being held at 7 o’clock in Tralee Library will be given by historian Reverend J Anthony Gaughan who is from Listowel and who wrote a biography on Stack.
