A Labour senator has criticised the party’s strategy of running just one candidate in the General Election in Kerry.

Labour party senator Marie Moloney

Senator Marie Moloney says she was not consulted on the decision but is not going to create divisions by putting her name forward.

Monday night’s selection convention is expected to select Deputy Arthur Spring.

However, she confirmed she would be seeking re-election to the Seanad.

Senator Maloney said she believed there is still a huge divide between North and South Kerry and Killarney was left ‘wide open’.
