Ireland’s original and oldest ‘Gathering Festival’ continues until Friday.
The celebration revolves around the crowning of a wild mountain goat as King, in honour of a tradition and heritage that can be traced back as far back as 1613.
This year’s Queen of Puck, 12-year-old Kerry Lynch from Glounaguillagh National School, will crown ‘King Puck’ today, before a parade through the town.
Meanwhile an animal rights group is to stage a protest before the parade.
ARAN supporters will demonstrate at the Puck Statue to urge organisers not to use an animal as part of the festival.
But Chairman of Puck Fair Declan Mangan has defended the event.
