A mid-Kerry secondary school is to open tomorrow for Leaving Certificate students despite ongoing strike action by the ASTI.
Yesterday, three teachers from the Intermediate School in Killorglin brought a group of Leaving Certificate students to Cork to a production of Hamlet as this was not affected by the industrial action.
Padraig Creedon is a teacher and ASTI rep at the Killorglin school.
He says it is disappointing that the Department of Education have left it get to the stage of having pickets outside schools today.
