A Killorglin man is to speak to an Oireachtas committee about the rising cost of car insurance.
Kian Griffin, who previously organised a national protest over the increase in premiums, will meet with the committee on Wednesday of next week.
Insurance premiums have increased substantially in recent years, and Mr Griffin believes the awards being given out in court have contributed to the rising costs.
He also says those who have accidents while uninsured have caused the costs to increase even further.
The 25-year-old hopes for greater transparency from insurance companies with regard to their pricing structure, however, he admits this may cause a legal issue with privately-owned companies.
Mr Griffin of the organisation Ireland Underground believes, in order to combat the problem, the government needs to intervene.
