« BackKillarney woman and Thurles man appear in Cork Court on drugs charge

Gavel 1A woman from Killarney and man from Tipperary have been charged following an investigation into the death of a man who allegedly ingested a drug known as N-bomb.

Alex Ryan, who was 18, and from Liscahane, Millstreet, Co Cork died in January 2013.

However, there was no mention of Mr Ryan at yesterday’s court sitting in Cork.
20-year-old Jessica O’Connor of Rosebank House, Ballyhar, Killarney and 22-year-old Ruairí Maher of 12 Ballycurrane, Thurles, Co Tipperary were charged with conspiring with another to possess a controlled drug for the purpose of sale or supply to another in Cork City on January 18th.

That drug was known as N-bomb.

Cork District Court was told by Inspector Finbarr O’Sullivan that the Director of Public Prosecutions had already decided that the case should proceed on indictment at Cork Circuit Court.

Judge Leo Malone adjourned the case until September to allow time for the books of evidence to be prepared.

Both accused were remanded on bail.
