Kerry Fine Gael Senator and Seanad Leas – Cathaoirleach Paul Coghlan received clarification from Regional Development Minister Heather Humphreys, with €8 million to be spent on the refurbishment.

 

Senator Coghlan tabled a commencement debate on the issue of Killarney House in the Seanad.

In her clarification, Minister Humphreys outlined the overall Killarney House project will cost in the region of €8 million.

Fáilte Ireland are to provide €5.2 million with the Department providing the remainder.

It’s gardens will be open to the public on a daily basis from July 10th.

Senator Coghlan said the refurbishment was one of the most significant developments for the tourism sector, since an estimated 70,000 people have visited the gardens over the last three months.
