A Killarney councillor totally disagrees that nobody on the housing waiting list will be displaced by the arrival of refugees.
Director of services with Kerry County Council John Breen says given the amount of families coming to the county it will not impact on the housing situation. However, independent Cllr Donal Grady says some people are on the housing list for up to 12 years. He says local authority houses haven’t been built in Killarney for six years and houses are like gold dust.
