Two Kerry towns have been listed in the top 20 in Ireland in the latest survey by Irish Business Against Litter.
Killarney has been ranked in sixth place and is referred to as ‘Cleaner than European Norms’ while Tralee is placed 17th and is ‘Clean to European Norms.’
The survey cites heavy litter on the Tralee Road in Killarney as the only problem area there.
In Tralee, it says an area near Clashlehane Roundabout and a second area near the Kerry County Council roundabout at Rathass are both heavily littered.
President of the Tralee Chamber Alliance, John Drummey, says the results for Tralee are disappointing given that it has slipped from 3rd to 17th in the latest report.
