Dan Kiely says he doesn’t regret taking a legal challenge all the way to the Supreme Court that led to the count afresh in the Listowel Municipal District.
The Independent candidate who narrowly missed out in the local elections of 2014 again lost out in his bid to get a seat on Kerry County Council.
Speaking after the result in the early hours of this morning Mr Kiely said he wouldn’t rule out a future in the political arena:
Mike Kennelly of Fine Gael was just two votes ahead of Dan Kiely for the final seat in 2014.
The Fine Gael candidate gained two votes on that count and reversed the order moving above Jimmy Moloney of Fianna Fail who also kept his seat.
