Kerry’s Live Register figure is continuing to rise.
The figures for July from the Central Statistics Office reveals for the second consecutive month the number of people signing on in the county has increased. It marks an annual decrease of over 8 per cent when compared to July 2014. Although there has been another monthly increase recorded it is very marginal at 0.2 per cent or 31 people compared to June. Killarney has continued a steady decline since January to stand at 1,772; the drop can be attributed to the height of the tourism season. Kenmare and Dingle also reflect this trend sliding to 368 and 624 respectively. Tralee had the largest monthly increase in July to 5,701, Listowel rises slightly to 2,513 as does Killorglin to 992 and Caherciveen to 456.
