People are making a career out of bogus claims.
That’s according to Kerry Independent TD Michael Healy-Rae commenting on a report by Standard & Poor’s Global Ratings which looks at Ireland’s insurance industry.
The report said that the average price of car insurance stood at €900 and is expected to rise by 10 to 15 percent in the middle of next year.
Deputy Healy-Rae said measures have to be introduced as soon as possible to stop the culture of bogus claims and he blamed the insurance companies for not challenging claims.
In addition, the Independent TD said that the Government is “dragging their feet” on the issue.
