Frontline Gardaí aren’t being paid enough.
That’s according to Kerry Fine Gael TD Brendan Griffin who says he has gone on the record in the past on several occasions to outline his views in relation to the matter.
The Keel native was speaking as a Garda strike tomorrow continues to loom following the rejection of further pay proposals by the Garda Representation Association.
Deputy Griffin said personal tax burdens are affecting both the public and private sector and is one of the issues at play:
He hopes however, despite union demands, at the very least a strike deferral may still be possible:
