A Kerry TD has described as ‘outrageous’ situation whereby no medical cards have been issued in over a week due to technical difficulties.
Independent TD Michael Healy Rae said it has come to his attention that since last Wednesday, the National Processing Unit for Medical Cards has been unable to issue medical card ot the status of applications.
Deputy Healy Rae said he’s been advised it’s envisaged the system will be up and running again tomorrow.
This he said, is unacceptable and the week long delay could cause undue distress to people who are ill:
