A Kerry TD has blamed a lack of resources for a delay in emergency services attending the scene of a car crash.
Independent TD Michael Healy Rae was speaking about a two car collision that occurred in Templeglantine, Co Limerick last Friday.
The HSE says the National Ambulance Service received a call at 3.17pm that day; the closest ambulance was tasked within two minutes and arrived on scene just over half an hour later at 3.51pm.
The attending paramedics requested more help at 3.57pm, but that ambulance didn’t arrive until 5 o’clock.
Deputy Michael Healy-Rae is praising people who work in the emergency services, but says resources need to be addressed given that it was nearly two hours after the crash when the second ambulance arrived.
