A Kerry TD is among a group of government backbenchers lobbying the Finance minister to introduce tax incentives to help the economic recovery in rural large towns.

Brendan Griffin was one of those who spoke at a Fine Gael parliamentary party meeting on the need for specific measures for urban areas outside of the cities in the forthcoming Budget.
The proposals would see tax relief offered to those who refurbish vacant buildings for business or living purposes.
