« BackKerry student wins medal at World Skills competition in Brazil

A Kerry student has won a medal at the World Skills competition in Brazil.

Andrea O’Donoghue, a student at Kerry Education and Training Board, received a medal of excellence in the Beauty Therapy category.

She was one of ten Irish winners at the international competiton, in which the Irish team was placed 11th overall.

In a further Kerry connection to the event, held at Sao  Paulo, Kerry ETB tutor Tara O’Halloran-Cronin participated as a Chief Expert.

The World Skills competition is held bienially, and is often described as the Olympics for apprentices, with 1,200 students competiting against each other at various skills.
