« BackKerry Senator elected Leas-Cathaoirleach of Seanad

A Kerry Senator has been elected Leas-Cathaoirleach of the Seanad.

Fine Gael Senator Paul Coghlan was elected by 36 votes to 11.

The Killarney man was first elected to the Seanad in 1997 and is currently serving his fifth term in the Upper House.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny said Senator Coghlan will bring a wealth of experience to the role.
