« BackKerry Senator believes report on future of post offices should be implemented

Leas-Cathaoirleach and Fine Gael Kerry Senator, Paul Coghlan, has called for the implementation of the Bobby Kerr report on the Future of Post Offices, as a matter of urgency.

Speaking in the Seanad, Senator Coghlan emphasised how important An Post jobs and services are across the country, with over 40 Post Offices in Kerry providing essential services to people of the south-west.

The Fine Gael Senator said that he fully supports the suggestion by the Working Group led by Bobby Kerr, for a pilot scheme to be set up as soon as possible to initiate a Motor Tax renewal service.

Bobby Kerr’s report on the future of post offices provided 23 recommendations covering a number of areas, including network renewal, financial services, government services, white labelling, and social capital and enterprise.
