A group of Kerry postmasters want to develop an action plan to safeguard the post office network in the county.
They are holding a public meeting in the Rose Hotel in Tralee this Friday at 8.30 to discuss options open to them.
Nora O’Connor is the postmistress in Ballyduff and says if a post office closes there is a knock-on effect on other businesses in a community.
She says that one Kerry postmaster told her that he would be better off financially if he was on social welfare.
