Console National Suicide Charity logoThose impacted by the collapse of Console are encouraged to continue to use the bereavement service.

Suicide prevention charity Pieta House took over the running of Console since the latter went into liquidation.

Pieta House CEO Brian Higgins, who is in Listowel today as part of a national tour, says the negative publicity following Console’s collapse has affected the number of new referrals.

However, as Console staff have accepted new contracts, the same bereavement services are in place.

Mr Higgins says Pieta House’s efforts to incorporate Console’s services into their existing charity have been going well.

He encourages those who have been bereaved by suicide to still come to Console.
