college library books student from PixabayKerry is one of the top tourist destinations for people visiting international students in Ireland.

The Erasmus study programme brings over 7,200 students to study or work in Ireland each year, with nearly 80% of students coming from France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands.

A recent survey carried out by the Higher Education Authority revealed that €14 million is spent annually by those visiting students during their time on the programme.

A third of Erasmus students go to colleges or workplaces in Munster, with Kerry, Cork and Limerick benefiting in terms of tourism.
