« BackKerry not to benefit from latest round of Garda chief superintendent promotions

garda badgeThe Kerry Garda Division will have to wait longer for a dedicated Chief Superintendent to be appointed.

The Government this week agreed to the promotion of 10 chief superintendents and 18 superintendents nationwide; however, Kerry isn’t one of the locations to benefit from a new chief superintendent.

The Garda Commissioner Noirin O’Sullivan had requested the appointment of 46 senior managers.

In March, David Sheahan was appointed Chief Superintendent for Kerry; he’s also continuing in his role as Chief Superintendent for Limerick and is based at the city’s Henry Street Garda Station.

The former Kerry Chief Superintendent Pat Sullivan retired in January.
