Members of the IFA in Kerry have called for the immediate resignation of its deputy president, Tim O’Leary.
A further motion calling for the resignation of its national treasurer was withheld at a meeting at the Manor West Hotel last night until after December 15th .
This is when the National Executive meets again and when the report by former chief economist Con Lucey is due to be published.
Chairman of Kerry IFA Seán Brosnan said it was not believable that only one man was responsible for signing off on the remuneration package of the IFA general secretary Pat Smith.
Mr Brosna said that grassroots members of the organisation were calling for more control over and clarity in the decision process within IFA.
He also called on former president Eddie Downey or the national executive to name names about who else knew about the remuneration package.
